Research

Over the years IHARF has pursued many research activities relevant to Western Canadian growing conditions which were not being addressed by others in the research community. IHARF manages an Agri-ARM (Agricultural Applied Research Management) site, which studies include minor use herbicide testing and a comparison of cool and warm season crops for annual grazing. IHARF, in collaboration with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, is conducting agronomic studies on many Western Canadian crops.

In 1998, IHARF purchased a half section of land just east of Indian Head. Over the years, this land has been used for industry leading precision farming research, along with various field scale trials and demonstration activities. This land is a crucial asset, allowing IHARF to validate research results on a commercial field scale level.
